In 2013, as a kinesiology undergrad student, I launched the First Pull website with the goal of promoting the practice of Olympic-style weightlifting as well as providing high quality training information to assist athletes and coaches of all level.
After graduating, I earned a scholarship to pursue Neuroscience research at the Masters level at University of Montreal, which led to a publication in Plos Biology. However, in 2014, I left to pursue my first passion, weightlifting, as the head coach of the Géants de Montréal Weightlifting Club. Since then, I have been involved in developing weightlifters of all ages from grass root level all the way up to the highest level.
The highlight of my coaching career was achieved in 2021 as athletes Maude Charron (64kg) and Kristel Ngarlem (76kg) represented Canada at the 2020 Olympic Games earning the 1st and 8th place respectively. A few months later, Alex Bellemarre (89kg) would break the Canadian and Commonwealth records with a 350kg total which ranked him 12th at the 2021 Senior World Weightlifting Championships.
